Club of 100
What is the Club of 100?
The Club of 100 is a club of maximum 100 people at a time, who commit themselves to donate at least 500€ per year for a period of 5 years. The Club of 100 is open to all individuals who have shown to appreciate ESTIEM as a network organisation.
What is the main goal of the Club of 100?
- Support activities, initiatives and projects that otherwise would not have been possible in ESTIEM
- Provide equal opportunities for individual ESTIEMers who otherwise could not have been active in ESTIEM
What types of support does it offer?
The Club of 100 currently offers three different types of support. The explanations, requirements and specifications of the current support options are listed below:
If you think about becoming a leader in ESTIEM (a Service Leader, Project Leader, Committee Leader, Task Group Leader or Board member) and you have insufficient funds, the Leadership scholarship may be something for you! The following rules apply to ESTIEMers in order to be considered for an individual scholarship to support their active role in ESTIEM:
- The leadership scholarship is granted to highly motivated ESTIEMers to support their active role in central ESTIEM.
- The applicant has or will get a significant leadership position within ESTIEM (for example Board member, Service Leader, Committee Leader).
- A leadership scholarship can be awarded (but not paid) before the person is elected, and in case the beneficiary doesn’t get elected, the scholarship will be cancelled.
- The maximum amount of a leadership scholarship is € 2000. During their entire ESTIEM career, the applicant can receive multiple leadership scholarships, but the total amount per person cannot exceed € 2000.
- The applicant is responsible for exploring all other possible options for covering the costs associated with their leadership position. These contain, but are not limited to:
- Family or friends
- University and/or Local Group
- Student job
- Government
- Savings
- Central ESTIEM
- The applicant is responsible for providing a budget of their total income and expenses, with reasonable estimates on how to spend the scholarship. Estimation of travel costs must be based on the cheapest reasonable transportation alternative available when booking well in advance.
- The applicant must convincingly put forward their motivation for the leadership position.
- Incomplete application, or such with evidently incorrect cost estimations are rejected without further consideration.
- In case a person shows great neglect in carrying out duties, the scholarship is not continued and further payments are cancelled.

The participation scholarship is aimed at providing ESTIEMers with a dire lack of funds the possibility to travel to events in ESTIEM. The following rules apply to ESTIEMers in order to be considered for an individual scholarship to participate in an event:
- The participation scholarship is granted to highly motivated ESTIEMers to support their participation in an ESTIEM event. Events with a significant proportion of academic content (e. g. Vision, BXD), personal development (e.g. SAC) or ESTIEM-related work (CM, CoM) are prioritised.
- The participation scholarship covers up to 80% of the applicant’s costs for participating in an event, which cannot be covered through other sources. The maximum amount granted per event is €200.
- During their entire ESTIEM career, the applicant can receive a maximum of three participation scholarships with a total amount of maximum €500.
- Costs for participating in an event may contain travel and visa costs, and participation fee. Other costs, e.g. pocket money, should not be included in the application.
- The applicant is responsible for exploring all other possible options for covering the costs of event participation. These contain, but are not limited to:
- Family or friends
- University and/or Local Group
- Student job
- Government
- Savings
- Central ESTIEM
- The applicant is responsible for providing an accurate cost estimation. Such estimation must be based on the cheapest reasonable transportation alternative available when booking well in advance.
- The applicant must convincingly put forward their reasons for participating in the event.
- Incomplete applications, or such with evidently incorrect cost estimations are rejected without further consideration.
Please submit your application well in advance, allowing sufficient time (at least two weeks) until the cancellation deadline for the event.

This sponsoring type is used to provide quick funds for events or projects that are threatened by a big, unexpected crisis such as the sudden, last-minute withdrawal of a sponsor. This is not a substitute for the general ESTIEM reserves, because these reserves are mainly for covering unforeseen circumstances that threaten central ESTIEM as a whole. Crisis support from the Club of 100 is meant for cases that wouldn’t be covered by central ESTIEM, for example events where a Local Group carries the financial risk. Crisis support can be given as a loan, guarantee or grant, depending on the circumstances.
Selection criteria:
- The event or project faces unexpected loss of revenue, extra costs or another type of financial crisis
- The event or project wouldn’t take place without a financial injection or would be of an unacceptable low quality
- The event organisers or project team have no reasonable means to turn the situation around given the circumstances
- The Club of 100 has sufficient sponsor money available
A project or event that receives crisis support cannot make a profit. That means that if the project or event results in a profit, the amount of support will be reduced correspondingly.

Do you have an idea that you want to bring to life? The Ad Fundum award is there to support new projects from ESTIEMers that might need some initial funding to kick off the initiative. Beit a new event type, a game for ESTIEMers, an academic initiative or a personal project with the goal of bringing value to the network, anyone can apply for this funding.
Ad Fundum award is awarded once per year at a Council Meeting to one person/team. Selection criteria include originality, impact on ESTIEM, feasibility, and commitment. The indicative amount is € 500, and a member of the ESTIEM Board will support the winner to make an impact. The idea has to be realised within a one year timeframe.
